A little bit about me

I am currently a PhD student in political science at George Mason University. My main research interests include politics of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), political and ideological extremism, religion and politics, foreign aid and development effectiveness, and gender and human rights. I am back in school after having spent the last 11 years working in international development in the MENA region, including the last two years working as an independent consultant (for more info on my consulting work, click here). I have lived in, worked in, and written about the MENA region since 1998.
